YaYa Sisterhood Event
a
wonderful success
at the "Jack Rabbit Trading Post"
The
fourth annual YaYa Sisterhood fund-raiser certainly dished out the
Kicks on Route 66 on April 27. Participants were greeted on
the deck of Marian and Dennis Pierce's Animas Valley Home with a
selection of crowns to wear for the day, then followed the "road" to a
1950s-style camper trailer that served as a backdrop to the champagne
punch bar. Inside the home, committee members lavishly decorated
individual tables to represent the states through which Route 66 passed
on its way from Chicago to Los Angeles. It enjoyed its heyday
in the 1950s, and guests dressed the part. The event raised $5,200 for
the Grants Fund!
Thanks to Cindy Cortese, Carol Treat, Susie Amman, Mary Husemoller,
Buff Rogers, Karren Little, Penny Youngflesh, Chris Erickson, Teresa
Lashley and Kristi Nelson Cohen for organizing the event.
